The Wrattonbully wine region, nestled in the rolling hills of South Australia's Naracoorte Ranges, lies between the renowned Coonawarra and Padthaway regions. Part of the Limestone Coast zone, Wrattonbully is distinguished by its fertile terra rossa soils over limestone, which contribute to the rich, structured wines produced here. The region's cool maritime climate, influenced by its elevation and proximity to the Southern Ocean, extends the growing season, allowing for the development of complex flavours in the grapes.
Wrattonbully is particularly known for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, which are complemented by elegant white wines such as Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. With nearly 50 grape growers and 20 wine producers, the region blends the expertise of established wineries with the innovation of boutique producers, offering a diverse array of wines that reflect its unique terroir.
