Cowra, situated in the picturesque Lachlan Valley of New South Wales, is an emerging wine region renowned for its boutique wineries and commitment to sustainable practices. It is characterised by warm days, cool nights, and dry late summers—ideal conditions for grape ripening.
First planted with vines in 1973, Cowra has since flourished into a vibrant wine destination. The region is particularly celebrated for its exceptional Chardonnay, which laid the foundation for Cowra's reputation in the wine industry. Today, Chardonnay remains a varietal hero, complemented by notable plantings of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Malbec.
