The Orange wine region, located in New South Wales, Australia, is one of the country’s premier cool-climate wine districts, distinguished by its high elevation and volcanic soils. Centred around the city of Orange and stretching across the slopes of Mount Canobolas, the region's vineyards are planted at altitudes ranging from 600 to over 1,000 metres, making it one of the highest wine-producing areas in Australia.
This elevation contributes to a long, mild growing season, ideal for producing elegant, aromatic wines with vibrant acidity. The region is known for its high-quality Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz, and Pinot Noir, while also embracing emerging varieties and innovative winemaking. Orange’s unique terroir, combined with a growing reputation for boutique and sustainable producers, makes it a standout destination for wine lovers seeking distinctive, cool-climate expressions.
Brilliant pale straw colour with distinct highlights of green around the edges and a watery hue. Pronounced grapefruit, citrus and nectarine aromas intermix with biscuity oak and infusions of gun flint. Fleshy nectarine and pear fruits overlay a back drop of grapefruit, faint dried honey, biscuity oak and gun flint. Fresh acidity with an elegant, gently cream tinged medium to long finish. Drink over the next 4-5 years.
Fragrant scents of grapefruit, white peach, lemon and a whiff of spice underpinned by gentle, faintly toasty vanilla oak precede a gentle, smooth and mouthfilling palate whose vibrant citrus and stonefruit flavours are gently supported by nutty oak and finished by a soft acidity. A ripe, finely balanced and very elegant chardonnay whose core of fruit is as delicious as it is long and complete. Very impressive.
Vibrant aromas of citrus, musk and a hint of spice. The palate is juicy with driving acidity complemented by balanced, attractive fruit sweetness and a menagerie of citrus and stone fruit flavours. It has a long, linear structure and delicate balance of sweetness and acid.
Very pale straw colour. Precision and purity are hallmarks of the 2024 release. Fresh kaffir lime leaf and white floral aromatics. The palate shows an abundance of fruit intensity in tune with the textural elements and crystalline finish that this vineyard is loved for. Sophisticated and moreish.
Vibrant straw with a youthful green hue. It is restrained with lemony citrus zest, green bean, honeysuckle and balanced oak aromas. The palate is textural, tight and minerally, with lovely acidity giving line and length. Cellar confidently for over ten years.
