A flagship Shiraz born of treasured, old vines dating back to 1854, these are some of the oldest Shiraz plantings in the world. Matured in Yalumba coopered oak octaves; the inspiration behind the name of this fine, Barossa wine.
Drawn from a distinguished vineyard in the hamlet of Light Pass, The Steeple Shiraz is a true single vineyard wine. This wine is from biodynamically grown, low yielding centenarian vines planted in 1919. In the shadow of the Light Pass Immanuel Lutheran Church Steeple, the roots of these old vines run deep into the ancient Barossa soils, yielding intensely flavoured Shiraz grapes to create a wine of richness, texture, concentration and length.
Reminiscent of the vibrancy, passion and energy of Spain, this wine is a smooth, fruit-driven red wine balancing notes of blackberry and plum with delicate spice. The Classic Tempranillo has been developed in our “Kindergarten Winery” – a mini winery focused on trialling small batches of new varieties and different winemaking techniques.
