Yarrh Wines

Yarrh Wines is a tranquil, family-owned boutique winery nestled in the Yass River Valley near Murrumbateman, about 45 minutes from Canberra. Established in 1997 by Fiona Wholohan and Neil McGregor, Yarrh produces estate-grown, single-vineyard wines—red, white, and rosé—that express the purity of place through organic and sustainable viticulture practices, such as composting and minimal intervention winemaking.

Their cellar door, housed in a striking rammed earth and straw-bale structure with panoramic views across the valley, offers relaxed tastings—from informal “belly to the bar” pours to immersive food-and-wine experiences like the Winemaker’s Sail and the Winemaker’s Tale. As a testament to their quality, Yarrh was awarded a 4.5-star rating by James Halliday, a rare honor in the region.
