Samuel's Gorge Winery

Samuel’s Gorge is a boutique winery nestled in McLaren Vale, South Australia, renowned for its handcrafted, small-batch wines that reflect the rugged beauty of the surrounding landscape. Established in 2003 by winemaker Justin McNamee, the winery operates from a historic 1853 farm shed perched atop a ridge, offering panoramic views of the Onkaparinga River National Park and the ocean.

Specialising in five key varietals—Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvèdre, Graciano, and Tempranillo—the wines are crafted with a focus on aromatics, texture, and complexity, utilizing indigenous yeasts and extended ferments to enhance depth and character. The Samuel’s Gorge label, featuring a mosaic of the surrounding landscape, embodies the winery’s philosophy of connecting people and place through wine.
