The Riverina wine region, located in south-central New South Wales, is one of Australia's largest and most productive wine regions, accounting for a significant portion of the country’s wine output. Centred around the city of Griffith, Riverina has a warm, dry climate supported by extensive irrigation from the Murrumbidgee River, enabling consistent, large-scale viticulture. While the region is best known for its high-volume production of popular varietals such as Shiraz, Chardonnay, and Merlot, it also has a reputation for producing premium-quality botrytis-affected Semillon, often referred to as Australia's answer to Sauternes.
The combination of fertile soils, reliable sunshine, and water access has made Riverina a powerhouse for both domestic consumption and export markets. Despite its industrial scale, the region is home to a growing number of family-run wineries focused on quality and innovation, adding diversity to its wine offerings.
Very fresh bouquet with notes of citrus and white fleshed-fruit. Fresh and supple, the wine is marked by mineral notes that are typical of the appellation.
Chardonnay is from select premium parcels of fruit from the Riverina, with a rich yellow colour, from the outset colour and nose display hints of a toasty Chardonnay style derived from the select use of oak and malolatic fermentation, the nose displays an abundance of fresh stone fruits, whilst on the palate a rich smooth and slightly buttery finish is present. Drinking well now and will also cellar well for the next 3 to 5 years.
Our 2024 vintage Merlot is from select premium parcels of fruit from the Riverina. Soft and fruity, this subtle Merlot shows spicy varietal flavours such as juicy plums and ripe dark fruits. Succulent sweet cherry aromas hit the nose with a hint of liquorice.
