Peter Lehmann Wines is a cornerstone of the Barossa Valley’s winemaking heritage, founded in 1979 by the legendary Peter Lehmann—a man known as much for his integrity as for his winemaking talent. The winery was born out of a promise to local grape growers during a time of industry hardship, and that spirit of loyalty and community still defines the brand today. Producing wines that reflect the bold, generous character of the Barossa, Peter Lehmann Wines is especially renowned for its Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Semillon, sourced from a diverse network of growers across the region’s varied sub-climates.
Signature labels like The Barossan, Stonewell Shiraz, and Portrait series deliver richness, structure, and age-worthiness, embodying both the traditional and contemporary faces of Barossa winemaking. With a scenic cellar door along the banks of the Para River in Tanunda, Peter Lehmann Wines offers an authentic taste of Barossa’s people, history, and world-class wines.
Brilliant pale straw with an edge of youthful green, lifted honeydew melon, young apricot, lychee and hints of ripe lemon curd with creamy, classy toasted oak lactones and a hint of mineral flint. Bright fresh varietal stone fruit flavours of peach and nectarine, soft, smooth textured mid palate with elements of biscuit/pistachio balanced with delicate perfumed oak toast and crisp wet stone acid freshening the finish perfectly.
This is a fine example of Cabernet Sauvignon crafted in true Barossa style. Lively and inviting showing classic regional flavours of bright and fresh blue fruits and a rich middle palate displaying plums and red cherries and a lovely smooth finish.
Lifted aromas of nectarine, red apples and honeysuckle draw your attention. The palate has a glossy, rounded texture with flavours reminiscent of ripe stone fruits and nashi pears with a fine, crisp refreshing natural acid finish typical of a classic Adelaide Hills Grigio.
The 2024 Portrait Sauvignon Blanc is a perfect example of the Peter Lehmann Wines style - vibrant, youthful pale straw hues, lifted aromas of varietal tropical fruit salad and crisp freshness.
