Murrumbateman Winery is one of the oldest and most beloved boutique wineries in the Canberra District, founded in 1973. It combines time-honoured winemaking techniques with creative youthful energy to produce award-winning cool-climate wines—particularly standout Riesling and Shiraz—alongside adventurous alternatives like Malbec, Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo.

Under the guidance of winemaker Bobbie Makin, the team handpicks and even foot-stomps grapes, delivering wines rich in regional character. Their welcoming cellar door, open seven days a week, is warm and family- and dog-friendly, offering tastings with coffee, scones, cheese plates, and a loyal wine-dog “boss” that brings extra charm to every visit.
