Katnook Estate is one of the founding wineries of South Australia’s Coonawarra region, with a rich winemaking heritage dating back to 1867. Housed in historic stone buildings on land once farmed by visionary Scottish pioneer John Riddoch, Katnook combines tradition with innovation to craft premium wines that showcase the region’s famed terra rossa soil.
Best known for its exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz, Katnook Estate produces wines of elegance, depth, and cellaring potential. With a strong emphasis on expressing regional character and vineyard quality, Katnook has earned both national and international acclaim, solidifying its position as a cornerstone of Coonawarra winemaking.
This expressive cabernet sauvignon has a lovely fruit aromatic profile. The palate is full and supple with vibrant layers of cassis, mulberry and blackberry fruit along with subtle hints of sage, herbs and a pleasant earthy and savoury depth. The complex palate is framed with polished, fine-grained tannins, a hallmark of the Coonawarra region.
Deep red with purple hues in appearance. Attractive and complex aroma layers of blackcurrant, dark forest berries, ripe plum and hints of mint, chocolate and vanillin. A well structured, medium bodied wine expressing rich, dark berry fruits, sweet spice and subtle oak maturation characters on the palate.
