Iron Gate Estate

Iron Gate Estate is a distinctive boutique winery located in Pokolbin, in the heart of the Hunter Valley, offering a unique blend of Mediterranean charm and premium Australian winemaking. Established in 1996, the estate is instantly recognisable for its Spanish-inspired architecture, complete with terracotta rooftops, wrought-iron detailing, hand-painted tiles, and a welcoming courtyard that sets the scene for a memorable wine experience.

The 25acre vineyard is planted with a carefully curated mix of classic and emerging varieties such as Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tempranillo, all grown with a focus on expressing the Hunter Valley’s cool-climate character. Led by head winemaker Geoff Broadfield, Iron Gate crafts small-batch wines that balance traditional techniques with modern precision, resulting in expressive, award-winning styles across whites, reds, and sparkling wines.
