Gemtree Vineyards

Gemtree Wines is a family-owned winery located in McLaren Flat, South Australia, renowned for its commitment to organic and biodynamic viticulture. Established in the 1980s by Paul and Jill Buttery, the winery is now led by their daughter, viticulturist Melissa Brown, and her husband, winemaker Mike Brown. Gemtree's 123-hectare vineyard is managed using biodynamic methods, aiming to enhance soil health and biodiversity. The winery produces a diverse range of wines, including Shiraz, Grenache, Fiano, and Tempranillo, reflecting the unique terroir of the region.

 

Their tasting room, powered by solar energy and constructed with recycled materials, offers panoramic views of the surrounding landscape and provides an immersive experience in sustainable winemaking practices. Gemtree Wines has received recognition for its environmental stewardship, including being a finalist in the Banksia National Sustainability Awards.
