First Creek Wines

First Creek Wines is a distinguished, family-owned winery nestled in the heart of Pokolbin, Hunter Valley, New South Wales. Founded in 1998 by Greg and Jenny Silkman on land bordered by the creek that still gives the estate its name, the winery has become a benchmark for quality and innovation in the region. Under the leadership of Chief Winemaker Liz Silkman—named Halliday Wine Companion’s Winemaker of the Year in 2025—alongside Greg and Shaun Silkman, First Creek has earned a consistent Five Red Star rating from James Halliday since 2010 and was shortlisted for Winery of the Year in 2024.

Visitors can enjoy tastings in a working winery environment, complete with cellar door tours and views of the bottling operations, all while sampling Hunter Valley classics like Semillon, Chardonnay, Verdelho, and Shiraz alongside more experimental varietals.
