Chateau Yaldara

German immigrant Hermann Thumm transformed a mid‑19th-century flax mill on the banks of the North Para River into the iconic estate, Château Yaldara. Today, the 1847 Wine Group continues to bring Thumm’s vision to life, producing a diverse range of meticulously crafted wines—including traditional Barossa reds, fortifieds, sparkling varieties, and regionally inspired blends.

A highlight of its legacy is the celebrated fortified wines, with its 40‑year‑old Tawny honoured as Fortified Wine of the Year at the China Wine & Spirits Awards—testament to the estate’s enduring winemaking prowess.
